Love Twydall Street Party

On Saturday the 11th June the churches of Love Twydall (Holy Trinity, Rainham Christian Fellowship and Twydall Evangelical Church) hosted a Street Party in honour of the Queen's 90th birthday. Near-on 150 guests accepted invitations to attend and celebrate together. An excellent feast was had by all, prepared by a team of volunteers in each of the churches.

Music celebrating the Queen's 90 years and including everything from "Land of Hope and Glory" to Rock-and-Roll classics of the 1950s provided the background throughout. Children were kept entertained by a craft area and plenty of games. The weather was very kind to us - warm and calm. Commemorative books recalling the servant heart of our monarch were given as gifts for each family to take away. Many people worked very hard to give all the guests a time to remember. Our thanks go to them - and also to our local Co-Op which provided freely most of the food and drink, and to T Allen's Funeral directors who provided many of the table decorations.
